Governor Bakosoro declares that the war against South Sudan from Sudan is not over

The Governor of Western Equatoria State Col Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro has declared to WES citizens that the war against South Sudan from Sudan is not yet over as Khartoum continues to bomb the territories of South Sudan.

Hundreds of WES citizens crowded at Yambio freedom square to join the rest of the Country to commemorate the 29th anniversary of the Sudan’s People Liberation Army/Movement (SPLA/M).

WES State secretariat officially relocates to the Presidential Villa

May 14, 2012 (Yambio) The Office of the state governor has been officially relocated to the Presidential Villa on Monday May 14, 2012 from the former headquarters in the heart of Yambio town.

The relocation comes as a result of openness to the office of the Governor and the old building is due for renovation as well as lack of enough space to accommodate offices.

The deputy governor of WES Sapana Abuyi who is the chair person of the renovation committee, said it is another historical day in the history of Western Equatoria State.

South Sudan ex- minister survive plane crash in Yambio

May 3, 2012 (MALAKAL) - At least two passengers and a pilot, are reported to have sustained injuries when a relief aircraft belonging to the United Nations World Food Proggrammee (WFP) crashed while landing at Yambio airstrip on Wednesday, authorities told Sudan Tribune on Thursday.

“Eight other passengers including former minister of transport and bridges Anthony Lino Makana on board came out safely.

The incident took place yesterday at around 10:am in Yambio, capital of Western Equatoria State”, Christopher Ismail, South Sudan’s Director of Aviation said on Thursday.

“It was a WFP programme plane 5Y-NGO”, he adds.

Shut down of Oil pipeline, the main cause of budget change in South Sudan

3rd /04/2012. (Yambio) The shutdown of oil in the Republic of South Sudan has created a vacuum in government institutions that needs government to come up with new modalities of how it will be getting some income rather than depending on oil.

Last week but one, the National Ministry of Finance had called all the ten Ministers of Finance plus their Director generals, Directors of Budget and senior Inspectors of budget to Juba to discuss and reduce some expenses within the budget to help them drive through till pipe lines are completed.

Each ministry’s which added it  to 21, reduced to 8.

Bimo Primary School Inaugurated.

May 2, 2012 (Yambio) Bimo primary school, located in Makpaturu Boma of Ri –rangu Payam, was officially opened on 30th April 2012 by the commissioner of Yambio County Hon. John Kuzee.

According to John Manase the Chairperson of the school committee, Bimo primary School was initiated in 2011 by the community of Makpaturu Boma with support from Hon. Hisain Enoka, Member of Parliament for Ri-rangu Payam.

Utaz John Manase said Bimo primary School has a population of about 200 Pupils.
